Air Testing For Mold in Your Home or Office
Ever have one of those days when you are not feeling well and that that feeling
has been going on for a time but you cannot get to the bottom of it. It really is time to look for a potential
problem in your home. Air Testing for Mold is a good first responder as to what is going on in your home due to
many different types of potential problems inside your house.
Now, first thing you need to think about is the following:
1. Have You Have any type of Water Intrusion In Your Home.
2. During the winter, were there high levels of moisture accumulating on the window panes?
Both types of moisture intrusion can have detrimental effects on
your home. Air testing for mold can possibly identify the source location of the mold or having a mold
inspection is the next solution. We generally recommend a mold inspection of the home or structure first
before doing air testing for mold. A lot of times, we can find the source of mold without doing mold air
testing. This helps save the client money which can be spent on the remediation for mold process. During tough
economic times such a now, it is important to think of your client first before doing air testing for
mold.
Air testing for mold does have its limitations such as it only tests the air in the location and
not inside of the walls, unless your request air testing for mold inside your walls. This is more expensive because
it requires multiple air testing for mold samples in the room. The upside of air testing in the walls, it is more
accurate than taking an air sample in the air.
Air Testing In Walls
We have found that air testing in the walls outperforms air testing in the room. So, if you are
looking for accuracy, do air testing for mold inside suspected mold areas instead of air testing in the room.
It is important that you need to always react quickly to any form of water intrusion in your home.
If you have a flood in a bathroom, clean it up immediately. One area that most people neglect during a flood of a
bathroom is under the bathroom cabinet. The bathroom cabinet is the perfect place for mold to grow after a flood.
When you are cleaning up the flood, make sure to ventilate under the cabinet even if you have to drill a hole in
the baseboard. It is cheaper to replace the wood facing on the bottom of the cabinet than do remediation later.
The same goes for walls in a room after a flood. We have had more mold damage from improper cleanup
than any flood could ever do if it is cleaned up properly. Remember to ventilate the interior of the walls or you
will have mold on the inside of the walls. Remember this saying: No Moisture, No Mold.
